Bohlmann <br />Gouncilman-at-Large <br />Please be advised that at its regular Council Meeting on <br />September 19, 1989, the Council of the City of North Olmsted <br />unanimously approved the following motion, moved by <br />Councilman Wiiamosky, seconded by Councilman Boehmer: <br />Whereas, the North Olmsted Police Department has responded <br />twenty-one times during Calendar Year 1988 to nuisance, dis- <br />turbance and assault complaints at the Star Lounge, 29352 <br />Lorain Road, North Olmsted, Ohio, and has responded twenty- <br />nine times in the first eight months of Calendar Year 1989 <br />to nuisance, disturbance and assault complaints and has made <br />four arrests in the parking lot of said Star Lounge for alleged <br />drug law violations; and <br />Whereas, the Council of the City of North Olmsted believes that <br />renewal of a liquor license for said Star Lounge is not in the <br />best interests of .the residents of .the City of North Olmsted <br />nor in the best interests of the residents of the State of <br />Ohio; and <br />Whereas, the Council of the City of North Olmsted considers the <br />number of Police Department responses for nuisance, disturbance <br />and assault complaints at the Star Lounge to be unreasonable and <br />that such activities are a threat to the health, safety and wel- <br />fare of the residents of the City of North Olmsted. <br /> <br />Now, therefore, the Council of the City of North Olmsted hereby <br />directs the Clerk of Council to request that the Ohio Board of <br />Liquor Control schedule a hearing to evaluate testimony from the <br />North Olmsted Department of Law as well as from representatives <br />from the North Olmsted Police Department which will substantiate <br />the City Council's request that the liquor license of the Star <br />Lounge not be renewed; and <br />
