Council Minutes of 9/5/89 _5_
Audience participation (cont'd):
Robert Gilchrist, 31490 Lorain Road, addressed council with respect to the in-
stallation of hydro-brakes in the Deerf ield area. Such a system was installed
a few years ago and he cannot see where it helped; feels it was a waste of money
then and will be a waste of money now. What is really needed is to run a sewer
down Walter Road or Maple Ridge to the ditch by Noreen or take it to the ditch
by the school on Maple Ridge. This will get the water out of the area; not hold
it in the area. Mr. O'Grady responded that he hoped Mr. Gilchrist's fears would
not be realized since the hydro-brakes have already been approved by council and
are going to be installed.
LEGISLATION:
Resolution No. 89-56 introduced by Mayor Petrigac was given its third reading.
A resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for one
(1) roll-off (dead lift) 50,000 pound frame container rails for the sludge-
hauling truck at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, and. authorizing the Mayor to
contract for same, and declaring an emergency. Mr. Wilamosky moved for adoption,
second by Mr. Tallon, unanimously approved. Resolution No. 89-56 adopted.
Ordinance No. 89-69 introduced by Mr. Wilamosky was given its second reading. An
ordinance amending Sections 721,01 (c), 721.06 and 721.10 of the Business Regu-
lation Code of the City of North Olmsted.
Ordinance No. 89-70 introduced by Mayor Petrigac was given its second reading.
An ordinance accepting for dedication the Tallwood Estates Subdivision which in-
cludes Tallwood Drive, Ivy Court and Tallwood Court in the City of North Olmsted.
Ordinance No. 89-71 introduced by Mayor Petrigac was given its second reading.
An ordinance to make appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures
for the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 1989.
Ordinance No. 89-75 introduced by Mayor Petrigac was given its first reading. An
ordinance to transfer appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures
for the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 1989.
Miscellaneous business:
Mr. Wilamosky asked when the $1,206 would be utilized to make some improvements
on Tallwood. Service Director Noble responded that this money would be used to
do any repairs that the Service Department is able to do but only after the street
is .dedicated.
Mr. Wilamosky also asked Service Director Noble if he would provide some docu-
mentation with respect to the many complaints with respect to high weeds in the
area of Pheasant Walk.
Mr. McKay and Mr. Boehmer noted that they had received numerous complaints from
residents on Fleharty with respect to a race car being worked on at all hours of
the night and early morning; these complaints were passed on to the.Safety Director
by Mr. McKay and Mr. Boehmer but the nuisance has not been abated .even though
residents also complained directly to the Police Department.
Mr. O'Grady expressed the concern of some of his constituents with respect to
the Mayor's hiring of a clerk for her off ice when the city's lack of funds is
being publicized through talk of a tax issue. Mayor Petrigac responded that her
organizational chart permits the hiring of a clerk as sell as a secretary and
since council had provided the funds she utilized them at this time.
~,.~ .>. ,
