MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MARCH 2, 1989 <br />Present: President Janet Saringer, Councilwoman Bahas, Councilmen <br />Bohlmann, O'Grady, Tallon, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Finance Director Edward Boyle, <br />Clerk of Council Florence Campbell. <br />Absent: Councilmen Boehiner and McKay. <br />Special Meeting of Council was called to order by President Saringer at 7:40 P.M., <br />in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road. <br />LEGISLATION: <br />Ordinance No. 89-16 introduced by Mr. Wilamosky on behalf of the Mayor and the <br />entire Council was given its first reading. An ordinance providing for the <br />submission to the electors of the City of North Olmsted of an amendment to <br />Section 8 of Article VIII of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted to author- <br />ize this council to levy annually, for a period of ten years, without a vote of <br />the people, an additional tax, at a rate not exceeding seven-tenths of one mill, <br />to provide funds for municipal recreational purposes, including. payment of costs <br />of providing permanent improvements, current operating expenses and annual debt <br />service requirements on certain obligations issued to pay costs of providing <br />and improving recreational facilities, and declaring an emergency. Mr. Wilamosky <br />moved for suspension of rule requiring three readings as well as referral to <br />comanittee, second by Mr. Bohlmann, unanimously approved. Mr. Wilamosky moved for <br />adoption, second by Mr. Bohlmann, unanimously approved. Ordinance No. 89 -16 <br />adopted. <br />Mr. O'Grady moved to excuse the absence of Councilman Boehmer and Councilman <br />McKay, second by Mr. Bohlmann, unanimously approved. <br />There being no further business. and the agenda being completed, President Saringer <br />adjourned the special council meeting at 7:50 P.M. <br />lorence E.
