MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTID <br />JULY 30, 1990 <br />Present: Council President Boehmer, Council Members Babas, <br />Leonard, McKay, Nashar, O'Grady, Beringer. <br />Also Present: Mayor Edward Boyle, Finance Director and Acting Clerk of <br />Council James Burns. <br />Absent: Councilman Tallon <br />Council President Boehmier called the special meeting to order at 7:05 <br />p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, OH. <br />T.F.C;TST.ATTnN <br />Ordinance No. 90-94 introduced by Mrs. Babas was given its first <br />reading. An ordinance authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement <br />with the Cuyahoga County Board of Commissioners for Block Grant Funds <br />for fiscal years 1991, 1992, 1993. Mrs. Babas nerved for suspension of <br />the rules requiring three reading and of committee meetings; second by <br />Mr. O'Grady. Unanimously passed. <br />Mr. McKay asked the Mayor what council was agreeing to in the way of <br />development. <br />Mayor Boyle responded that a resolution must be passed annually and <br />submitted to the County to be eligible for the development block grant <br />money. The deadline for the resolution is August 20. The Law <br />Department has reviewed the ordinance and contract aril has approved it. <br />If the City does not pass the ordinance, we will not be eligible for <br />this money. <br />Mr. McKay asked if North Olmsted would appoint someone to the Urban <br />County Coordinating Board. <br />Mrs. Babas explained the Mayor is authorized to appoint one member to <br />the Urban County Coordinating Committee and one member to the Urban <br />County Cities Advisory Council. <br />Mayor Boyle responded that our representative would be Don Copeland. <br />Mr. McKay expressed his hope that North Olmsted would be getting its <br />fair share of the money. <br />Mayor Boyle explained that the action taken tonight was simply the first <br />step. Council will be made aware of the areas of the City that are <br />available for funds. Ac~ninistration and council will work together to <br />formulate plans.
