MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTID <br />APRIL 16, 1991 <br />Present: Council President Pro Tem Nashar, Council Members Bahas, <br />Leonard, McKay, O'Grady, Tallon. <br />Also Present: Mayor Ed Boyle, Finance Director James Burns, Clerk of <br />Council Barbara Seman. <br />Absent: Council President Boehmer, Council Member Saringer. <br />President Pro Tem Nashar called the meeting to order at 8:01 p.m. in <br />Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />The minutes of the meeting of April 2, 1991 were approved as written. <br />President Pro Tem Nashar announced that Ordinance No. 91-63 would be <br />withdrawn. <br />Mayor Boyle introduced the new State Representative, Ed Kasputis, who is <br />visiting Council meetings of the cities within his district. Mr. <br />Kasputis said that he looked forward to working with the City of North <br />Olmsted and the other cities in his district. He will be sending out a <br />mailing every two weeks concerning legislation that will effect the <br />State of Ohio. <br />Mayor Boyle presented a proclamation to Claire Hayes of the North <br />Olmsted School Board. The proclamation saluted all teachers and <br />recognized May 7, 1991 as National Teachers' Day. Mrs. Hayes thanked <br />the Mayor for the proclamation aryd thanked the community for showing <br />support for our fine and dedicated teachers. <br />A proclamation, presented to Donna Meyers from the Cuyahoga County <br />Library, recognized National Library Week of April 14 through April 20. <br />Ms. Meyers was pleased to accept the proclamation on behalf of the <br />County Library system and invited all to visit their local libraries. <br />Mayor Boyle presented a proclamation to Tom George, Councilman from the <br />City of Lakewood and a representative of Attorney General Lee Fisher. <br />The proclamation recognized National Victims' Rights Week of April 21 <br />through April 27. Mr. George expressed thanks from the Attorney General <br />for this recognition of victims' rights. He announced that the special <br />week would be kicker off with a public outreach meeting at the Chapel <br />Missionary Baptist Church in Cleveland. One of the chief concerns of <br />Attorney General Fisher is the rights of victims of crimes and of the <br />powerless in general. Therefore, the special events of this week will <br />help to make the public aware of the Victims' Rights Act and of the <br />availability of funds. <br />
