MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF I~RTH OLMSTED <br />FEBRUARY 6, 1991 <br />Present: President Pro Tem Nashar, Council Members Babas, McKay, <br />O'Grady, Saringer, Tallon. <br />Also Present: Mayor Edward Boyle, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director James Burns, Clerk of Council Barbara Seman. <br />Absent: Council President BoeYner, Council Member Leonard. <br />President Pro Tem Nashar called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in <br />Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, OH. <br />President Pro Tem Nashar welcomed members of Scout Pack 204. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />Minutes of the regular meeting of January 15, 1991 were approved. <br />Minutes of the special meeting of January 16, 1991 were approved. <br />President Pro Tem Nashar announced that suspension of the rules would be <br />asked on the following legislation: Ordinance Nos. 91-16, 91-18, 91-19, <br />91-20, 91-21, 91-22, 91-23, 91-24, 91-25, 91-26, 91-27, 91-28, 91-29, <br />91-36, 91-37, 91-38, 91-39, 91-40, 91-41. <br />Mr. McKay moved to amend the agenda to consider Resolution 91-18; second <br />by Mrs. Saringer; passed unanimously. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Re~ution No. 91-18 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mr. <br />McKay. A resolution co~mnending the Public Service of Fire Chief John <br />VanKuren. Mr. McKay moved to suspend the rules requiring three readings <br />and review by committee; second by Mrs. Babas; passed unanimously. Mr. <br />McKay moved for adoption; second by Mrs. Saringer; passed unanimously. <br />Resolution No. 91-18 adapted. Chief VanKuren was recognized by the <br />Administration, Council, and the audience. <br />Mayor Boyle reported: 1) The Builders Exchange has n~ninated our newly <br />renovated Recreation Center for the 1990 Builders Exchange Craftmanship <br />Award. Builders Exchange was impressed by the design by Van Dyke arxi the <br />construction work by Panzica. <br />2) The Workmen's Compensation Board will decrease our rate of $3.75 per $100 <br />of payroll to $2.75. This should go into effect next year and be a savings <br />of approximately $50,000. <br />3) We have legislation on the agenda tonight, 91-36 through 91-41, which <br />will allow us to join the County in repairs of Barton Road south of Lorain, <br />McKenzie Road, Mastick Road, a portion of Kennedy Ridge Road, Root Road, and <br />Walter Road. This will probably be a 50-50 project with the County. <br />1 <br />
