Council Minutes of 1/15/91 <br />2) The Committee discussed longevity for employees having served in an <br />elected official capacity prior to full-time employment. The Committee <br />and the Administration agreed to remove the ward "consecutive" from the <br />five places where it appears in Section 16 of Ordinance 90-164. At a <br />later date, the "elected official" portion of this section will be re- <br />addressed. Also, in conjunction with these provisions, Ordinance 90-91 <br />will be tabled. <br />3) Next, the Committee agreed to the following changes within the Police <br />Department: cost of photocopies will be increased. to $5; the cast of <br />photographs will be increased to $10; the petty cash fund will be <br />increased to $250. <br />4) The Committee discussed tax abatement for the horizon property on <br />Butternut Ridge which the City owns. <br />5) Plans were made to review all engineering fees during this year. <br />Mr. O'Grady reported on the Legislative Committee on behalf of Mrs. <br />Babas: 1) Legislative Committee met on January 8 to review the four new <br />appointments to Boards/Commissions. In attendance were Committee members <br />Mrs. Babas, Mr. McKay, Mr. O'Grady and the four appointees. <br />The Committee was impressed with the quality and qualifications of the <br />appointees and all were approved. <br />2) Mr. O'Grady moved that Council approve the following appointments: <br />Thomas Mullo~ to the Board. of Building Code Appeals for the period <br />January, 1991 through December, 1992; Angelo Skoulis to the Planning <br />Commission for the period of Jarntiary, 1991 to December, 1993; John Maloney <br />to the Board of Zoning Appeals for the period of January, 1991 to <br />December, 1994; and Edward J. Gallas to the Board of Zoning Appeals for <br />the period of January, 1991 to December, 1995. Motion was secorm3.ed by Mr. <br />McKay; passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Boyle swore in Angelo Skoulis to the Planning Commission and John <br />Maloney to the Board of Zoning Appeals. Both gentlemen were recognized by <br />Council, the Administration, and the audience. <br />Mr. McKay reported on the Long-Range Planning Committee on behalf of Mrs. <br />Babas: 1) On January 10, a Fublic Bearing was held for the Community <br />Development Block Grant program. Projects mentioned included the <br />following: sewer improvement on Fleharty Road; Fire Station 4~1 <br />improvement; Town Hall renovation; Elm Road imcprovement. Forms are <br />available from the Department of Human Resources for other possible <br />projects. The Long-Range Planning Committee will meet on January 16 to <br />discuss Community Block Grants and project recommendations. <br />Mr. Nashar, Chairman of the Streets and Drainage Committee reported: <br />1) A Committee meeting was held on January 9 and in attendance were the <br />following: Council Members Janet Saringer, Dean McKay, George Nashar; <br />Service Director Bohlmann; Mr. Stuart, a resident from Timber Trails. Mr. <br />Stuart was concerned about storm water from Lorain Road flooding his <br />backyard and, occasionally, his home. Mr. Bohlmann stated that the <br />Service Department would investigate. <br />2) Ordinance No. 90-174, revision of the cemetery ordinance, was <br />discussed by the Committee. <br />4 <br />... f~ <br />
