Council Minutes of 10/6/92 <br />c. A drive-up phone at the BP station at 29131 Lorain Road arm Stearns Road. <br />The BZD ComFni.ttee suggested that this phone be relocated to the south of the most <br />southern ingress and egress to Stearns. Mrs. Saringer moved to approve provided <br />that the phone be relocated according to the conditions set by the BZD Committee; <br />second by Mr. Nashar; motion passed unanimously. <br />Mr. McKay, Chairperson of the Environmental Control and Public Safety, Health arxi <br />Welfare Committees, reported: 1) The Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee <br />met on Monday, September 21. In attendance were Council Members Leonard arxi <br />McKay; Safety Director Gundy; and. Finance Director Burns. The following agenda <br />item was discussed: <br />a. A central dispatch system for the Police anal Fire Department, Ordinance <br />No. 92-128. The combining of the two dispatch stations would require the <br />purchase of a master control panel, a channel control panel, and two Motorola <br />standard cabinets. The approximate cost. is $20,000. The proposal was discussed <br />again on October 5 with Mayor Boyle, Chief 5efcek, Chief Osterhouse, Assistant <br />Chief Smith, Safety Director (~ndy, and Council Members Leonard and McKay in <br />attendance. Since there are several camaa~i.ties in the county using a central <br />dispatch system, it was decided to contact these municipalities to learn about <br />their experiences. The goal of instituting this system will be to reduce the <br />response time of the Police and Fire Departments. The committee will meet again <br />to discuss the input from the co~am~nities who are using this system. <br />2) Mr. McKay proposed the approval of the following liquor permits: <br />a. A D5 liquor permit transfer from James O'Malley, 26361 Brookpark Road to <br />Santo's Pizza & Pasta, 25907 Brookpark Road, Plaza North. Mr. McKay moved to <br />approve; second by Mr. Leonard; motion passed unanimously. <br />b. Anew C2 permit for the Shell station at Lorain and Clague Roads. Mr. McKay <br />moved for approval; second by Mr. Leonard; motion passed unanimously. <br />c. A D5 and D6 liquor permit transfer from 30850 Lorain Road, DBA 30850 Lorain <br />Road, Inc. to Moon Shadows, 30850 Lorain Road. Mr. McKay moved to approve; <br />second by Mr. Leonard; motion passed unanimously. <br />d. A D5 and D6 liquor permit transfer from Szarka's Taste of Hungary Restaurant, <br />29691 Lorain Road to Oddel Corporation, DBA Corso's Restaurant, 29691 Lorain <br />Road. Mr. McKay moved for approval; second by Mr. Leonard; motion passed <br />unanimously. <br />e. A D1, D3, D3X, and D6 liquor permit transfer from Chester's Inc., 4949 Great <br />Northern Blvd. and Patio to Chester's Inc., DBA Chester's, 5081 Great Northern <br />Shopping Center, ~~18. A discussion ensued among Council Members as to the reason <br />for this transfer. It was noted that Chester's had also applied for a new <br />license which is granted to restaurants meeting certain criteria. Mr. McKay <br />moved for approval; second by Mr. Leonard. Roll call: McKay, yes; Leonard, yes; <br />Babas, yes; Lind, yes; Nashar, yes; Saringer, no. Motion passed with 5 affirma- <br />tive votes and 1 negative vote. <br />4 <br /> <br />
