The Rocky River Power Squadron has been serving the West
Shore communities for 25 years.
Mayor Boyle reported: 1) Bids have been taken on the Rice Ditch. This ditch,
which runs south of Alexander Road, has contributed to flooding in the area. The
ditch will be cleaned, parts of it will be culverted to stop the erosion problem,
and it will be widened in some areas. This work will increase the water capacity
of the ditch, thus reducing flooding. The work near Alexander will be dome in
another phase. The third phase will be done by the County during the Clague Road
project.
2) Repair work has been started on Kennedy Ridge, East Park, West Park, and North
Park.
3} An establishment from out of the city has been placing leaflets on cars in the
park. They have been notified to cease this practice.
4) We will soon be opening bids for the installation of air-conditioning. at the
commmity cabin. Hopefully, this project will be completed before Homecoming.
5) The Building Department has made an inspection of Town Ha11 and recommerxled
that it be closed to public assembly. City offices and the food cupboard will be
maintained. However, Town Hall does not meet the requirewents of the American
Disabilities Act for handicapped facilities. The Lar~lmarks Gomnissiom is working
on a restoration plan for Town Hall; however, financially this is probably a 1993
project. Rest room facilities need to be built on the main floor to be
accessible to handicapped citizens.
