MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />OCTOBER 16, 2012 <br />~~ <br />Present: President of Council Limpert; Council Members Barker, Brossard, <br />Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski, Schumann, Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, <br />Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Safety/Service Thomas <br />Absent: Planning/Development Director Wenger <br />Human Resources Director Farver <br />President Limpert called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of September 4, 2012 were approved as written. <br />Councilman Brossard made a motion to amend the agenda to place Ordinance 2012-76 <br />on second reading. The motion was seconded by Councilman Schumann and passed <br />. unanimously. Ordinance 2012-76 placed on second reading. <br />No legislation will be on suspension this evening. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• On September 27, 2012, Columbia Road Baptist Church held a cookout for first <br />responders and their families. He thanked the church for thinking of the Police <br />Department. <br />• There have been thefts from unlocked cars on the streets of Palm, Coe, Michael <br />and Elm. Please remove valuables from your cars and lock car doors. <br />• Kathleen Cole was hired as the Clerk of Court for the Mayor's Court. She comes <br />to North Olmsted from Boston Heights. She will start November 19, 2012. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• No report. <br />Director of Finance Copfer: <br />• The proposed Bond issue legislation is on first reading. She submitted a summary <br />of the proposed borrowing to Council with corresponding legislation numbers <br />identifying the projects. There are seven new money issues, which are 201297 <br />through 2012-103 for an approximate total of $2,680,000 including Bond costs. <br />The others are 2012-89 through 2012-96.
