MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />°~~ MARCH 29, 2012 <br />Present: President of Council Limpert, Council Members Barker, Brossard, <br />Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski, Schumann, Williamson. <br />President Limpert called the meeting to order at 6:08 p.m. in the Council Caucus Room, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Resolution 2012-31 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its third reading. A <br />Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a purchase agreement for real property <br />located at 3827 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio, to be used for the public <br />purpose of improvements to city sewer systems; further authorizing the Mayor to enter <br />into a residential lease agreement for said property to permit continued occupancy <br />pending demolition and commencement of sewer project. Councilman Schumann moved <br />for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Barker. Roll Call: Schumann, <br />yes; Barker, yes; Williamson, yes; Brossard, yes, Orlowski, no; Kearney, yes; Mahoney, <br />yes. Resolution 2012-31 adopted 6-1. <br />Resolution 2012-32 was introduced and placed on first reading by Councilwoman <br />Williamson. A Resolution authorizing the Mayor to apply for the 2012-2013 Ohio <br />Attorney General Drug Use Prevention Program Grant and, if awarded, further <br />authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the appropriate state agency to <br />accept funding on behalf of the city, and declaring an emergency. Councilwoman <br />Williamson made a motion to suspend the rules requiring three readings and formal <br />committee review. The motion was seconded by Councilman Schumann. Roll Call: <br />Williamson, yes; Schumann, yes; Kearney, yes; Orlowski, yes; Mahoney, yes with <br />comment. City Council did receive a letter from Captain Kilbane of the North Olmsted <br />Police Dept. explaining the circumstances for why this legislation needs to be passed <br />under suspension of the rules this evening. Roll Call continued: Barker, yes; Brossard, <br />yes. Councilwoman Williamson moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Schumann and passed unanimously.
