MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />JANUARY 15, 2013 <br />Present: Council President Pro-tem Williamson, Council Members Barker, <br />Brossard, Mahoney, Orlowski and Schumann <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, <br />Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Safety/Service Thomas, Director of <br />Planning/Development Wenger, Director of Human Resources Farver <br />Absent: Council member Kearney <br />Council President Pro-tem Williamson called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />Law Director Gareau explained the appointment process for President of Council. <br />Council President Pro-tem Williamson stated that Council was in receipt of three resumes <br />for the President of Council position from Chris Glassburn, Nicole Dailey Jones and <br />.+~. <br />Stephen Wolf. Council President Pro-tem Williamson opened the floor for nominations <br />for President of Council. Councilman Mahoney nominated Nicole Dailey Jones for <br />President of Council. With no other nominations, roll was called. Mahoney, Jones; <br />Brossard, Jones; Schumann, Jones; Barker, Jones; Williamson, Jones; Orlowski, Jones. <br />Council votes 6-0 to appoint Nicole Dailey Jones as President of Council. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: Second Reading -Ordinances 2013-7 and 2013-8; Resolution 2013-10. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• The Cross Country Ski Chase Saturday will be January 26, 2013 at Springvale at <br />2:00 p.m. Sign-up will be prior from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. There is limited ski <br />rental equipment for this event, so please make sure you attend. <br />• The Police Dept. is reminded everyone to keep car doors locked. There has been <br />some auto theft off Porter Road near Westlake. Please lock doors and remove <br />valuables. <br />• The Recreatoin Center and Mayor's Office received a couple complaints that their <br />children were coughing and had flu-like symptoms, attributing it to the pool at the <br />Recreation center. One resident mentioned that emails were going back and forth <br />;~~ <br /> <br />
