..
Council Minutes of 9/17/96
44 Ordinance No. 96-163 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mr. Nashar on behalf
~, of himself, Mr. Limpert and Mr. O'Grady. An ordinance amending the traffic control file
of the City of North Olmsted by providing for the installation of two " 20 Mile Per Hour
School Crossing" signs, one on the north and one on the south side of Sweetbriar Drive,
and declaring an emergency. Mr. Nashar moved for suspension of the rules requiring
three readings; second by Mr. Limpert; motion passed unanimously. Mr. Nashar moved
for adoption; second by Mr. Limpert; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 96-163
adopted.
MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS
Mayor Boyle asked to add an item to his report. The new Fire Station No. 1 was recently
recognized as a safely built facility and received an award from the International
Association of Fire Chiefs. It is unfortunate, but some communities scrimp on the building
of their fire stations and some of them have burned down. Our fire station was built to the
same specifications as are required of others who build facilities in the city and we "did it
right." We received one of only 76 awards given in the entire country.
Mr. McKay moved to excuse the absence of Mr. Lind and Mr. O'Grady; second by Mr.
Nashar; motion passed unanimously.
With the agenda being completed and there being no further business to come before
Council, President Boehmer adjourned the meeting of September 17, 1996 at 9:40 p.m.
r~ ~,. ~ ~ ~
;,
Barbara L. Seman, C rk of Council ; ' ,, James D. Boehmer, President of Council

16
