Council Minutes of 6/18/96 <br />Mr. Nashar, Chairperson of the Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee: 1) The <br />t committee met on June 12. In attendance were Council Members Limpert, O'Grady, <br />McKay, Musial and Nashar and Safety Director Kasler. The committee discussed the <br />following liquor permit transfers: <br />a. Mr. Beverage and Magazines Inc., DBA Mr. Beverage, 27600 Lorain Road, to Kajen <br />Beverage Inc., DBA Mr. Beverage, at the same address The committee had no <br />objections. Mr. Nashar moved to approve the liquor transfer to Kajen Beverage Inc., <br />DBA Mr. Beverage; second by Mr. Limpert; motion passed unanimously. <br />b. Pine Tree Beverage, 23239 Lorain Road, owners Earl and Maria Kehoe, to Susie Inc., <br />DBA Pine Tree Beverage, at the same address. This will be for carry-out beverage. The <br />committee had no objections. Mr. Nashar moved to approve the liquor transfer to Susie <br />Inc., DBA Pine Tree Beverage; second by Mr. Limpert; motion passed unanimously. <br />c. Buckeye P H Inc., DBA Pizza Hut, 27845 Lorain Road to Midland Food Services <br />LLC, DBA Pizza Hut, at the same address. The manager of the Pizza Hut restaurant <br />informed Mr. Nashar that the carry-out license would not be used. The committee <br />recommended approval. Mr. Nashar moved to approve the liquor transfer to Midland <br />Food Services, DBA Pizza Hut; second by Mr. O'Grady; motion passed unanimously. <br />2) The committee also discussed Ordinance 96-90, which authorizes the removal of "No <br />Stopping or Standing" signs on the west side of Columbia Road to be replaced with "No <br />Parking" signs. The Police Department feels that the present signs are adequate and <br />anyone stopping, standing or parking on the road will be ticketed. Also, it was felt the <br />cost to change the signs would be unwarranted. The committee recommended that <br />Ordinance 96-90 be tabled. <br />Mr. Limpert, Chairperson of the Transportation Committee: 1) The committee met on <br />June 12. In attendance were committee members Limpert and O'Grady; all members of <br />Council except Mrs. Saringer who was attending the Recreation Commission meeting; <br />Safety Director Kasler; Service Director Bohlmann. The committee discussed Ordinance <br />96-96, which accepts an easement on the property owned by Franchise Operations Inc. <br />(Burger King) at the corner of Canterbury and Lorain Roads. This is a very small <br />easement for a sign pole for the traffic signalization project. The committee recommended <br />approval. <br />Mr. O'Grady, Chairperson of the Intra-Governmental Relations and Legislation; Long- <br />Range Planning Committee: 1) The committee met on June 12 to consider Ordinance <br />Nos. 96-97 and 96-98. In attendance were committee members O'Grady; Lind, Musial; <br />Council Members McKay, Limpert, Nashar; Mayor Boyle; Safety Director Kasler; Service <br />Director Bohlmann. Pending additional information, the legislation was held in <br />committee. Two additional meetings were held on June 17 and June 18. The committee <br />has recommended approval of Ordinance 96-97 which presents changes to the voters as <br />recommended by the Charter Review Commission. Mrs. Kasler was thanked for her <br />diligence in looking into the provisions of Ordinance 96-98.
