MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />,~~,: <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MARCH 3, 1998 <br />Present: Council President Pro Tem Limpert, Council Members Gareau, Kasler, <br />McKay, Miller, Nashar, O'Grady <br />Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Absent: Council President Saringer <br />Council President Pro Tem Limpert called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag. <br />Mr. McKay moved to approve the minutes of the meeting of March 17, 1998 as written; <br />second by Mr. Nashar; motion passed unanimously. <br />President Pro Tem Limpert announced Resolution Nos. 98-21 and 98-22 would be added <br />to the agenda and passed under suspension of the rule and Ordinance No. 98-10 would be <br />passed under suspension of the rule on second reading. Mr. Limpert welcomed a number <br />of high school students who were in the audience. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Musial: 1) Council has been provided copies of the 1998 appropriations. The <br />carryover was not as large as had been hoped; and, as always, the wish list is always larger <br />than the reality list. <br />2) The city will recognize Former Prisoner of War Day on April 9, 1998 with a program at <br />North Olmsted Park. The POW group was organized to provide camaraderie, sharing and <br />caring for their fellow man. It is interesting to note that the daisy has been chosen as the <br />national symbol in remembrance of all former prisoners of war. American folklore has <br />long deemed that daisies "won't tell" making it a sincere tribute to the memory of those <br />who have endured hardships in silence. <br />3) A meeting was held with Ron Tober, General Manager of RTA, to discuss the <br />possibility of a new bus garage in North Olmsted. RTA does have $300,000 set aside for <br />the project and has four potential sites in mind. Mr. Tober has agreed to meet again and <br />will consider the city's proposal for the new garage site. <br />4) Service Director Bohlmann, Safety Director Jenkins and the Mayor visited Pine School <br />`'~` on February 24 to talk to the students about government in North Olmsted and the <br /> <br />
