MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />,~ OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />FEBRUARY 17, 1998 <br />Present: Council President Pro Tem Limpert, Council Members Gareau, Kasler, <br />McKay, Miller, Nashar, O'Grady <br />Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Absent: Council President Saringer <br />Council President Pro Tem Limpert called the meeting to order at 8:08 p.m. in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag. <br />Mr. McKay moved to approve the minutes of the Council meeting of February 3, 1998 as <br />written; second by Mr. Nashar; motion passed unanimously. <br />President Pro Tem Limpert announced that Ordinance Nos. 98-8, 98-9 and Resolution <br />Nos. 98-7 and 98-13 would be passed under suspension of the rules. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Musial: 1) In a continuing effort to improve Springvale, patrons of the facility are <br />being asked to fill out evaluations which will be used to provide information on what steps <br />need to be taken to improve the facility. <br />2) The Mayor's Ball was held on Saturday, February 14. The Springvale staff did an <br />excellent job and he compliments them on their efforts. The food was excellent and <br />everyone had a very good time. <br />3) The Westshore Council of Governments has been meeting with regard to the revision <br />of the dues structure. He has agreed to a change, subject to Council's approval. The dues <br />structure currently a 50%/50% based upon population and property valuation will change <br />to the first 10% to be borne equally by each of the six member cities with the other 90% <br />based upon a 75%/25% split between population and land valuation. This new dues <br />structure should save the city approximately $900 a year. <br />4) An executive session will be required to discuss litigation regarding pole signs, Parcel E <br />and land acquisition. <br />,:..K .. ...u .:m _ ... ,..~ ~.:_,~~~~..__ .... ce , <br />i <br />
