MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL
-' OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED
r SEPTEMBER 5, 2000
Present: Council President Saringer, Council Members, Kasler, Limpert, McKay,
Miller, Nashar, O'Grady
Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of
Council Seman
Absent: Councilman Gareau
Council President Saringer called the meeting to order at 8:10 in Council Chambers, 5200
Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio.
Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of
Allegiance to the Flag.
Mr. Miller moved to amend the agenda to include Ordinance No. 2000-118. The motion
was seconded by Mr. Nashar and unanimously passed.
President Saringer announced that Ordinance 2000-110 would be passed under
suspension of the rules.
REPORTS
Mayor Musial: 1) On August 14, he gave the oath of office to Police Officer Frank
Chung. The Police Department is now at full strength. The Fire Department is down one
person with the retirement of Jay Power, but we are in the process of securing a
replacement for him.
2) On August 9, the firefighters sponsored aCruise-in to benefit MDA. Both the Fire
Department and Police Department participated in a photograph booth at Homecoming.
The Fire Department proceeds went to MDA, and the Police Department proceeds went
to the DARE program. Firefighter Carl Schanz presented a $6,000 check to the local
representative of the Jerry Lewis MDA telethon.
3) On August 21 and 22, he and the Law Director and Finance Director were in New
York to make presentations to Fitch and Moody's rating companies.
4) The test centrifuge at the Wastewater Treatment Plant has been in operation since the
beginning of August and seems to be working out fairly well. There still is a slight odor
emanating from the plant, but this is due to the fact that the solids are being accumulated
in an open container outside of the building. When the permanent centrifuge is installed,
it will be enclosed. Hopefully, we will then have completed the last step towards
virtually eliminating odors emanating from the plant.

.~,~.,,~,., ~. .~.,..n~.,~ __. ~,...._ ~. .. _.. ~-.. .,.,
