MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCII. ,:'~ OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED '~ JULY 18, 2000 Present: Council President Saringer, Council Members Gareau, Kasler, Limpert, McKay, Miller, Nashar, O'Grady Also Present: Mayor Musial, Senior Assistant Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of Council Seman Council President Saringer called the meeting to order at 8:03 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Finance Director Copfer noted that in her report of May 16, 2000 she had not included Huntington National Bank in the list of banks available to the residents for use in the linked deposit program. The minutes of the Council meeting of May 16, 2000 were approved as corrected. President Saringer announced that City Council would be on vacation during the month of August. Therefore, the following legislation would be passed under suspension of the rules: Bond Ordinance Nos. 2000-84 through and including 2000-92, various pieces of legislation Nos. 2000-93 through and including 2000-99, and Ordinance No. 2000-101. SPECIAL REPORT President Saringer introduced Human Resources Director Don Copeland and commended him for his efforts in directing the S.I.T.E.S. (Social Involvement Through Education and Service) students who compiled a City of North Olmsted elected officials' record. Mr. Copeland explained that Council's ad hoc committee had requested that his office take on the research project of determining the names of elected officials who have served the city from 1950 to the present day. The assignment was given to S.I.T.E. S. students assigned to the Human Resources Department, the Landmarks Commission, the Mayor's office and the Safety Director's office. Tonight is the culmination of that project, and everyone is very pleased to be able to submit the book to Council. Mr. Copeland introduced S.I.T.E.S. student Curtis Baker who was the hard-working and energetic team leader. Curtis Baker noted that the intent of this project as authorized by the North Olmsted City Council was to create a document that not only recognized citizens who were elected to city government from 1950 to the present, but also to be a living, historical record that can be updated yearly. Before this time, all records of North Olmsted's past had been hidden in archive vaults and old City Council minutes. Now the city will have simple
