Council Minutes of 7/5/2000 <br />Resolution 2000-72 introduced by Mayor Musial was given its second reading. A <br />~~. resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for installation <br />of an event lighting system for the ice rink at the North Olmsted Recreation Center in the <br />City of North Olmsted as detailed in the specifications on file and authorizing the Mayor <br />to contract for the same, and declaring an emergency. <br />Resolution 2000-73 introduced by Mayor Musial was given its second reading. A <br />resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for replacement <br />of the sound system for the ice rink at the North Olmsted Recreation Center in the City of <br />North Olmsted as detailed in the specifications on file and authorizing the Mayor to <br />contract for the same, and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 2000-75 introduced by Mayor Musial was given its second reading. An <br />ordinance authorizing the Mayor of the City of North Olmsted to enter into an agreement <br />with Chagrin Valley Engineering, Ltd. to provide engineering services for the Sharon <br />Drive rehabilitation, and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 2000-77 introduced by Mayor Musial was given its second reading. An <br />ordinance authorizing the Mayor to consent to amended use restrictions on the North <br />Olmsted Golf Course in order to allow for the construction of a Hall of Fame <br />administrative building. <br />Ordinance No. 2000-78 introduced by Mayor Musial was given its second reading. An <br />ordinance authorizing all actions necessary to effect a governmental electricity <br />aggregation program with op-out provisions pursuant to Section 4928.20, Ohio Revised <br />Code, directing the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections to submit a ballot question to <br />the electors and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance 2000-79 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial. An <br />ordinance amending Chapter 1901, entitled "Fair Housing Code" of the Codified <br />Ordinances, in order to obtain substantial equivalence with federal law. Mr. O'Grady <br />moved for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and committee review; second <br />by Mr. Nashar. Roll call: O'Grady, yes; Nashar, yes; Miller, yes, with comment that he <br />will ask the Law Department to inform him of the changes that the federal government <br />has required the city to make. If there should be any concerns after that, he will bring it <br />to Council's attention. Roll call continued: McKay, yes; Limpert, yes; Kasler, yes; <br />Gareau, yes. The motion passed unanimously. Mr. O'Grady moved for adoption; second <br />by Mr. Nashar; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 2000-79 adopted. <br />Resolution No. 2000-80 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial on <br />behalf of himself and the entire Council. A resolution expressing concern over the high <br />gasoline prices in northeastern Ohio and urging the region's federal and state <br />representatives to investigate into the causes for the high gasoline prices, and declaring an <br />emergency. Mr. McKay moved for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and <br />committee review; second Mr. Limpert.
