MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL. <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />APRIL 4, 2000 <br />Present: Council President Saringer, Council Members Gareau, Kasler, Limpert, <br />McKay, Miller, Nashar, O'Grady <br />Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Council President Saringer called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />President Saringer welcomed Boy Scout Troop 53. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of <br />Allegiance as led by Brian Boguski, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader of Troop 53. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of February 15, 2000 were approved as written. <br />The following Boy Scouts and leaders were recognized: Tom Berry, Brian Boguski, <br />C. J. Weber, George Chesney, Jacob Jakuszeit, Brad Wysomierski, Chris Williams, Jay <br />Schwartz, Mark McDermott, Danny Brewster, Terry Chesney, Joe Nix, Dan Sherman, <br />John Chesney, Tim Watson, Brian Cancian, Joe Kupchik, John Kuzman, David Moore, <br />Mike Silavent; Leaders Chris Schultz and Jansen Musselman. <br />REPORTS <br />1) At a meeting attended by mayors from a number of west side communities, Gordon <br />Proctor from ODOT discussed the Crocker Road extension. It is now firmed up that the <br />earliest that Crocker Road can be worked on or monies become available to have that put <br />through will be 2005. One of the attendees suggested that the timetable for the project <br />could be moved up if North Olmsted and Westlake were to provide front money, perhaps <br />more than 50%. He indicated that was a very bad idea, and there is no reason why two <br />communities should be singled out to do this when others are not. It looks like, if we <br />want to move quicker on this project, we will have to solicit federal funding. The city is <br />in consultation with Congressman Kucinich about this matter. <br />Law Director Gareau: 1) With respect to the Chamber of Commerce lawsuit, we filed a <br />motion for leave to file a motion for summary judgment regarding the retaliation claim <br />that is currently in front of the court. Originally, there was a trial date of April 10 on the <br />issue of retaliation. That has been turned into a settlement conference as opposed to a <br />trial. Hilary Taylor has entered an appearance on behalf of the city. He is currently <br />,#~ <br />
