.,~ REVISED MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />'-~~~ OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MAY 15, 2001 <br />Present: President of Council Saringer, Council Members Dailey, Kasler, Limpert, <br />McKay, Miller, Nashar, O'Grady <br />Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Council President Saringer called the meeting to order at 8:01 p.m. in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of May 1, 2001 were approved as written. <br />President Saringer announced that the following legislation would be passed under <br />suspension of the rules: Ordinances 2001-01, 2001-64, 2001-67 and Resolution 2001-65. <br />President Saringer introduced Mr. Brad Lamb, Regional Advisor of Public Affairs for the <br />Auditor of State, who made a presentation to Finance Director Copfer. Mr. Lamb <br />commented that every year the Government Finance Officers Association awards the <br />Certificate of Achievement in financial reporting to all governments that publish a <br />Comprehensive Annual Financial Report that meets the high standards of the GFOA. <br />This is the nation's most prestigious award for excellence in financial reporting. Out of <br />more than 5,000 government entities within Ohio, slightly more than 200 agencies <br />received this award. In honor of this award and on behalf of State Auditor Petro, he <br />presented Finance Director Copfer with the Auditor's Award for the 1999 CAFR. Mrs. <br />Copfer was congratulated by City Council and all present. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Musial: 1) The dedication of the skatepark took place on Saturday, May 12. <br />Thank you to Rae Ann Thomas for her four plus years of effort to make her dream into a <br />reality. Thanks to Councilmen Limpert and O'Grady for attending. <br />2) The Mother's Day Brunch at Springvale was a huge success with 507 paid attendees. <br />3) Compiling the data for the short-term strategic planning is now under way. Thank you <br />to Councilmen Dailey, Limpert, McKay, Nashar and O'Grady for their input. <br />4) Hot Stove opening day is Saturday, May 19, and will begin with a parade. <br />5) The Town Hall Meeting schedule is as follows: Wards II and IV on June 26 in the <br />Springvale Heritage Room; Wards I and III on June 27 in the Old Town Hall. <br />6) Our newest firefighter will be sworn in on Tuesday, May 29, at 1 p.m. <br />;~, <br />
