~, MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />~r OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />APRIL 3, 2001 <br />Present: Council President Saringer, Council Members Dailey, Kasler, Limpert, <br />McKay, Miller, Nashar, O'Crrady <br />Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />Council President Saringer called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br />President Saringer announced that the following legislation would be passed under <br />suspension of the rules: Resolution 2001-48, Resolution 2001-54. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of March 20, 2001 were approved as written. The <br />minutes of the special Council meeting of March 26, 2001 were approved as written. <br />President Saringer announced that a public hearing will be held regarding Ordinance <br />2000-13 at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 23. Ordinance 2000-13 provides for the <br />supplemental zoning of the Great Northern Mall property to the Wireless <br />Telecommunications Overlay District. <br />President Saringer announced that she had received a letter from Tammie Prok asking for <br />support of efforts to help the Jevcak family of North Olmsted. A genetic disease took the <br />life of the Jevcak's granddaughter, Amber. The family has many medical bills and has <br />exhausted their savings. Mrs. Prok and other residents are sponsoring a spaghetti <br />dinner/silent auction at Springvale on June 17 to raise funds for the family. All proceeds <br />will go directly to the Amber Jevcak Memorial Fund at First Federal of Lakewood. <br />President Saringer introduced Mrs. Prok who came forward and thanked everyone for <br />their support. She said that she and others were not only trying to raise money for the <br />family but also to raise awareness about the disease. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Musial: 1) North Olmsted has been named Tree City USA by the National Arbor <br />Day Foundation for the 16a' year. To become a Tree City USA, a community must meet <br />four standards: a tree board or department; a tree care ordinance; a comprehensive <br />community forestry program; an Arbor Day observance. <br />,x, <br />,~ <br />f <br />
