MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />JANUARY 22, 2001 <br />Present: Council Fresident Saringer, Council Members Kasler, Limpert, McKay, <br />Miller, Nashar, O'Grady <br />Also Present: Mayor Musial, Clerk of Council Seman <br />Council President Saringer called the special meeting to order at 6:25 p.m. in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Ordinance No. 2001-04 introduced by the Mayor and all of Council was given its second <br />reading as amended. A resolution opposing the proposed rate increase for natural gas <br />utility Dominion East Ohio and declaring an emergency as amended. Councilman <br />McKay moved to suspend the rules requiring three readings. The motion was seconded <br />by Councilman Limpert and passed unanimously. President Saringer asked for audience <br />participation as the legislation was being passed under suspension of the rules: <br />• Daryl Davis, 27516 Butternut Ridge Road, commended Council for passing the <br />resolution. She believes that resolutions passed across the State of Ohio will <br />persuade the state government that something has gone very wrong. We must urge <br />them to re-regulate utilities as deregulation has been a bad idea. Opening up the <br />market to speculators and marketeers is not in the best interest of the people of Ohio <br />or of Ohio businesses. <br />Councilman O'Grady moved to adopt Resolution No. 2001-04. The motion was <br />seconded by Councilwoman Kasler and passed unanimously.
