~, MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />;,~>, OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />NOVEMBER 19, 2002 <br />Present: President of Council O'Grady, Council Members Dailey, Gareau, Kasler, <br />Limpert, McKay, Miller, Nashar <br />Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />President of Council O'Grady called the meeting to order at 8:04 p.m. in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />President O'Grady announced that the following pieces of legislation would be passed on <br />suspension of the rules: Ordinances 2002-150, and 2002-160; Resolutions 2002-169, <br />2002-173, 2002-174, and 2002-182. <br />SPECIAL LEGISLATION <br />Resolution No. 2002-174 was introduced and placed on first reading by Councilman <br />Nashar on behalf of the entire City Council. A resolution commending the athletic and <br />academic accomplishments of Aaron Arlinghaus, student at North Olmsted High School. <br />Councilman Nashar moved for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and <br />committee review. The motion was seconded by Councilman Miller and passed <br />unanimously. Councilman Nashar moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Miller and passed unanimously. President O'Grady asked Aaron and his <br />father to come forward as the Clerk read the resolution in its entirety. Aaron was <br />congratulated by Council, members of the administration and the audience. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Musial: 1) He attended the salute to veterans that was presented by the North <br />Olmsted High School on Thursday, November 7. On November 11, the City of North <br />Olmsted presented a Veterans Day ceremony. Building Department inspector Ron <br />Tennant played the bagpipes and the North Olmsted Marching Band played a number of <br />patriotic songs. Many veterans groups participated, and veterans and Councilmen Dean <br />McKay and Thomas O'Grady gave excellent speeches. <br />2) Regarding the new North Olmsted library, a demolition of James Lumber and <br />surrounding pole barns was accomplished and the contractor is in the process of <br />disposing the debris. Yet to be done is the demolition of one home on Butternut Ridge <br />Road and clean-up of the two homes on Butternut Ridge Road which were burned. We <br />are still on our timeline, and we hope to go out for bid in the near future. <br />
