MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED
JANUARY 15, 2002
Present: President of Council O'Grady, Council Members Dailey, Gateau, Kasler,
Limpert, McKay, Miller, Nashar
Also Present: Mayor Musial, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of
Council Seman
President of Council O'Grady called the meeting to order at 8:05 p.m. in Council
Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio.
Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of
Allegiance to the Flag.
The Council minutes of January 2, 2002 were approved as written. The special Council
minutes of January 9, 2002 were approved as written.
President O'Grady announced that the following legislation would be considered for
passage under suspension of the rules: Resolution 2001-157, Ordinances 2002-5, 2002-6,
Resolution 2002-7, Ordinances 2002-9, 2002-10 and 2002-11.
Councilman Miller made a motion to amend the agenda to remove Ordinance 2001-158
as it will be held in committee for further evaluation. The motion was seconded by
Councilman Nashaz and passed unanimously.
RE_
Mayor Musial: 1) There is some activity on the extension of Crocker/Stearns. County
Engineer Bob Klaiber has indicated that, if the cities of Westlake and North Olmsted
purchase the right-of--way, he will obtain the funds to construct the Crocker/Stearns Road.
Westlake is currently involved in purchasing the land in Westlake, and he and Finance
Director Copfer aze looking into the potential of financing the purchase of the North
Olmsted property. As soon as he has some tangible efforts in that azea, he will bring it to
the attention of Council for their consideration.
2) The school guards now have cell phones, and they seem to be working out fairly well
in that the phones will give instantaneous response in the event there is need for
emergency services in that azea. This was a very good suggestion by Patrolman Chuck
Holly.
