Between the choir
from Pine School, part of the band from the high school, cookies, donut holes, hot cocoa,
and Santa Claus, about 250 to 300 people enjoyed the tree lighting ceremony.
2) Yesterday he attended an organizational meeting of a Suburban Water Council of
Governments. The purpose of the meeting was to finally formalize the organization of
nine regional groups. North Olmsted is part of the Westshore Region, which is
comprised of Bay Village, Fairview Park, North Olmsted, Rocky River and Westlake.
The chair of the Westshore Region is Mayor Patton of Fairview Park, and he is the
alternate chair. The nine regional groups elected Mayor Zanotti of Parma Heights as
president, Mayor Bacci of Cuyahoga Heights as vice-president, and Mayor Rothschild of
University Heights as secretary/treasurer. Any topics, such as rate increases or service
issues, will be coordinated through this Council of Governments. Hopefully, this Council
will be able to become involved in the current rate controversy.
