a ~ • <br />FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE <br />October 1, 2003 _ <br />i' w <br />North Olmsted Mayor Norman T. Musial has recommended to City Council Ms. Kimberly A. <br />Wenger to be confirmed as the City's first Director of Planning. Ms. Wenger is currently <br />employed as a Senior Planner for the firm of Burns, Bertsch & Harris, Inc in Columbus. <br />Ms. Wenger is originally from North Olmsted and served as an Intern in the City's Department of <br />Human Resources. Ms. Wenger graduated with honors from Ohio Wesleyan University and <br />received her Master of City and Regional Planning from The Ohio State University. <br />Ms. Wenger is a member in good standing of the American Institute of Certified Planners. She is <br />also a member of the American Planning Association and the Ohio Planning Conference. <br />Ms. Wenger has extensive experience in land use and strategic planning at the county. township <br />and municipal levels. She has significant skills to all elements retated to comprehensive planning <br />including public participation methods, regulatory process review and implementation <br />techniques. While employed at Burns, Bertsch and Harris, Inc. she was responsible for all stages <br />of the planning process, from proposal writing to project coordinator, and plan development <br />through final reporting. She has experience working with elected officials as well as interested <br />citizens, community organizations and a variety of professionals. <br />Ms. Wenger is extremely familiar with the North Olmsted community and its many opportunities, <br />both from the perspective of a long time resident and a previous City Hall intern. The Mayor <br />believes that her background and experience will make her a valuable addition to his <br />administration. <br />,~ .. _ <br />
