-- Y
the CDC has built in their Positron CAD system. In summary, GPS is a tool and not a
determining factor in automatic aid, the CDC would accomplish automatic aid with Fire
Run Cards and qualified dispatchers.
4. In the eighth paragraph the statement summarizing the eight month operational issues is
exceedingly misleading. The CDC was fully and competently provided with emergency
operating procedures from the outset. As with any good operation, CDC procedures are
constantly being reevaluated and refined in an ongoing process with the end goal of
improving emergency response times and response quality.
5. A significant omission from Councilman Orlowski's written meeting summary follows:
The CDC representative made comments to state that, in a life threatening emergency
situation or one that appears to be life threatening, the CDC will `dispatch and send
the closest unit' to provide the quickest response and provide quality emergency services.
I urge City Council to be both fiscally and operationally responsible to the residents of North
Olmsted by allowing the City to join the CDC, particularly since the offer is free for 2007. It has
been shown that each of the participating suburbs, Bay Village, Fairview Park, Rocky River, and
Westlake, have had significant decreases in response times and have improved coordination
since joining CDC. It is imperative that all residents of North Olmsted receive the quickest
response available to life threatening emergencies. CDC membership accomplishes this by
dispatching the closest available unit.
c
