SENI R
TRANSPORTATI N
CONNECTI
April 13, 2006
North Olmsted City Council
5200 Dover Center Road
North Olmsted, Ohio 44070
To the Members of North Olmsted City Council:
It has been requested that I place my thoughts regarding Sasa Stokic's status with the City in a
letter to you. Although I have had some initial reservations in doing this given my retirement
status with the City and my historically cooperative relationship with City Council, I have
decided to weigh in on the subject because I think losing Sasa would negatively affect the City's
operations. I know he is a valuable City employee, and I feel the City faces some risk if it
becomes necessary to replace his position.
I would state that during my tenure with the City of North Olmsted, it is my opinion that Sasa is
one of the two best Network Administrators ever employed by the City. I make this assessment
based on my experience with the former Department of Human Resources, its divisions, the
North Olmsted Commission On Paratransit Inc., and the Senior Transportation Connection of
Cuyahoga County (STC/F.LR.S.T. Call Center operations since the Summer 2005).
I have submitted a letter of recommendation for Sasa in his application for a similar position with
GCRTA. In this letter, I state, "Although I would regret seeing him leave the City of North
Olmsted...My hope is that the STC Call Center would still receive the contribution of his
expertise in any future capacity he would have with GCRTA." "He has always accomplished
the IT needs of the City in an efficient, professional, cooperative, and supportive manner. Many
times, he has had to complete his IT tasks in a work environment short on financial resources.
His initiative, ingenuity, resourcefulness, and positive demeanor have defined him and made him
one of the most respected employees in the City."
I know that as members of North Olmsted City Council you have to struggle each year with
budget/appropriation concerns, fairness issues, and helping lead the City in a positive and
successful direction. I think providing Sasa with a reasonable increased salary that will retain
him will help accomplish these goals.
Respectfully,
Don W. Copeland
Interim Executive Director
323 Lakeside Avenue Wesi, Suite 400 Clevelond. Ohio 44113 phony 216.443.3700 (ax 216.443.3737
(~ ~~ ~, ~ ~
~~
