Thanks <br />for all the support in those efforts. <br />2) We will be selling those issues this week, and though the market has moved <br />substantially reducing the estimated savings which we received back in February, she is <br />setting our options on the refunding issues, which has been changing daily. We <br />anticipate selling the bonds that are the new money issues on Thursday. We will <br />determine at that time if any or all of the refundings still make economical sense, or if we <br />may have another opportunity to do so and refund these later this year or down the road <br />within the next several years. <br />3) Her department acted as Clerk of Council most of last week, and it was relatively <br />quiet. <br />4) The Finance Directors who are part of the Rocky River Municipal Court are meeting <br />on May 4 to review the operations. If Council has any specific questions with regard to <br />court operations they would like her to ask, please send them to her in writing. <br />5) She tries to walk a careful line of full-time administrator and advisor to Council. <br />Today, she must put on her administrator's hat on the issue of the network administrator. <br />She has listened attentively to all sides of the compelling presentations of the debate. The <br />director made good presentations and compelling presentations to Council, and Council <br />had a very healthy debate on this issue. The fallowing is a letter from her to City <br />Council: "To City Council: Sasa Stokic, the Network Administrator, is a dedicated hard- <br />working employee who has led the city's conversion from a 1980s IT infrastructure to <br />present day technology. He came here with little directly related experience, but had an <br />eager willingness to learn and a great attitude. He has succeeded at every task: <br />• Migration from Novell to Windows, <br />• Significant infrastructure requirements, <br />• Changed out over 100 desktop computers, <br />• Creation of an on-site server farm, <br />• Installation of new financial accounting and payroll system, <br />• Installation of new fire house software, <br />• Upgrades to Ices, our building software, <br />• Upgrades to payroll time clock systems, <br />• Installed and maintains security software that protects our data and <br />equipment. <br />In addition he implemented various handheld portable devices, maintained our <br />telephone system, converted our email system, organized training for all staffing levels, <br />and redesigned and maintained the web page and is integral in the a-gov web access <br />initiative as well as in the upgrading of the recording and sound system in Council <br />chambers and caucus. Finance has many upcoming improvements we envisioned with <br />Munis and Sasa has been here from the beginning of this project and we trust his ability <br />and judgment in his area of expertise, information technology. <br />He has approached and completed each of these projects, over and above his daily <br />network administrative duties, with a positive mental attitude, good problem solving <br />abilities and a strong work ethic. He completed tasks on time and on budget. <br />The cost of replacing a proven employee considering tlxe responsibility of this <br />position is critical to the efficiency of all divisions and departments.
