<br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />TUESDAY, JUNE 26, 2007 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, <br />Dailey Jones, Miller, Orlowski, Ryan, Tallon <br />Also Present: Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of Council Seman <br />President Kennedy called the special meeting to order at 8:05 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Councilman Ryan led all present in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />REPORTS <br />Councilman Tallon, chairperson of the Finance Committee: 1) The committee met on <br />June 26, at 7:45 p.m. In attendance were all of Council; Service Director Limpert, <br />Human Resources Director Farver, Safety Director Terbrack, Finance Director Copfer, <br />Law Director Dubelko; guests. The committee discussed Ordinance 2007-77, a transfer <br />ordinance. The Finance Director had given all members of the committee a detailed <br />report on the transfers, and the committee had no questions. The committee unanimously <br />recommended approval of Ordinance 2007-77 and passage under suspension of the rule. <br />Councilman Orlowski, chairperson of the Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee: <br />1) The committee met on Monday, June 25. In attendance were committee members <br />Barker, Tallon and Orlowski; Council Member Ryan; Safety Director Terbrack; guests. <br />Agenda items included the following: <br />• Ordinance 2007-79, an ordinance extending for a sixty day period the temporary, <br />part-time Fire Administrator position in the North Olmsted Fire Department <br />created by Ordinance No. 2006-157, and declaring an emergency. A brief <br />discussion ensued. It was disappointing that the Fire Chief did not attend the <br />committee meeting as requested. The committee was unable to receive answers <br />to questions and to benefit from the Fire Chief's administrative expertise. After <br />due deliberation, the committee recommended by a vote of 2-1 to not recommend <br />passage of Ordinance 2007-79 by the whole of Council. <br />• A liquor permit transfer to change the corporate name for the Clark gas station, <br />28925 Lorain Road. Police Lt. Cox investigated this transfer as the corporation is <br />located in the State of Illinois. The Police Dept. had no objection to this transfer. <br />The committee recommended Council have no objection to the transfer. <br />Councilman Orlowski moved that Council have no objection to the transfer of the <br />liquor permit of the Clark gas station at 28925 Lorain Road, Permit No. 6445103. <br />The motion was seconded by Councilman Barker.
