<br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />JANUARY 2, 2007 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, <br />Dailey Jones, Miller, Orlowski, Ryan, Tallon <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of December 19, 2006 were approved as written. <br />President Kennedy asked for a moment of silence in memory of former President Gerald <br />Ford. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor O'Grady: 1) Happy New Year to all. <br />2) In the coming weeks, he will be representing our city at inauguration ceremonies for <br />Gov. Strickland, State Treasurer Cordray and others. As we begin these new terms, we <br />send our best wishes for success and a sincere desire to see our State move forward. <br />3) Of the applications for the Network Administrator received, 16 have been selected for <br />review by the Human Resources Director and our Information Technology consultant. <br />The review will determine who is to be interviewed. <br />4) During 2006, the Building Dept. Property Maintenance Inspector reviewed 3,002 <br />homes, of which 856 required some correction and 137 received letters of commendation <br />for exceptional property maintenance. <br />5) Five Police Sergeants took the written test on December 30 for the Lieutenants <br />opening. The oral test is tentatively scheduled for January' 13. <br />6) The retirement of Police Dept. Sgt. Larry Clute is affective tomorrow, January 3. The <br />Civil Service Commission has been informed that we are not replacing his position as <br />those duties have been reassigned. <br />7) The street repair plan, which is a work in progress, has been submitted to Council. <br />Some fine tuning will still occur, but the administration is prepared to meet with the <br />Streets & Transportation Committee to present the process used in developing the list. <br />8) Statewide Contracting was awarded the bid for replacement of the roof at Fire Station <br />No. 1. <br />9) Nine bids received for the Phase II program at the WWTP are being reviewed. <br />
