,J <br />MINUTES OF THE PUBLIC HEARING <br />NORTH OLMSTED CITY COUNCIL <br />FEBRUARY 19, 2008 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, <br />Dailey Jones, Kearney, Mahoney <br />Also Present: Clerk of Council Seman <br />President of Council Kennedy called the public hearing to order at 7:04 p.m. in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />President Kennedy announced the public hearing was being held in regards to Ordinance <br />No. 2008-6. <br />Ordinance No. 2008-6 is an ordinance amending Chapter 1163 (Signs) of the Zoning Code in <br />order to provide new regulations for temporary signs. <br />AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION <br />.. _.... <br />Dennis Lambert, 25057 Carey Lane, asked what changes the ordinance made to the original or <br />were there no restrictions on temporary signs? <br />Councilman Gareau said the city does not have a lot of regulations on temporary signs, so this <br />legislation was an attempt to provide some reasonable regulations as it is a sensitive area. The <br />changes are underlined in the attached Part B. <br />Mr. Lambert said he just wanted to express his concern that the sign changes be compatible with <br />the rules regarding temporary signs such as real estate signs, political signs, etc. There should be <br />some provisions to provide for those kinds of expressions of opinion. <br />Councilman Gareau said there are and suggested Mr. Lambert look at Section 1163.34. <br />With no further comments, President Kennedy adjourned the public hearing at 7:07 p.m. <br />arbara L: Seman, Cler of Council Kevin M.
