<br />LJ <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />APRIL Z1, 2009 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Brossard, <br />Gareau, Dailey Jones, Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8:01 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of April 7, 2009 were approved as written. <br />Councilman Mahoney made a motion to amend the agenda by removing Resolution <br />2009-45 as it is being held in committee. The motion was seconded by Councilman <br />Gareau and passed unanimously. Resolution 2009-45 was removed from the agenda. <br />Councilman Gareau made a motion to amend the agenda by including Resolution <br />2009-55 on first reading. The motion was seconded by Councilman Mahoney. Roll call: <br />Gareau, yes; Mahoney, yes; Orlowski, no; Kearney, no; Jones, yes; Brossard, yes; <br />Barker, yes. The motion passed with five yes votes and two no votes. Resolution <br />2009-55 was added to the agenda. <br />President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage <br />under suspension of the rules: second reading, Resolutions 2009-49 and 2009-50; first <br />reading, Resolutions 2009-53 and 2009-55. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor O'Grady: 1) Citizen of the Year banquet will be held this Thursday at the North <br />Olmsted Party Center. Thanks to all past Citizens of the Year for their contributions to <br />our community. Congratulations to this year's honoree. <br />2) Tomorrow is Administrative Professionals Day. Thanks to all those whose efforts adc <br />so much to our businesses, schools, and governments. Thank you to all the clerical <br />workers in the city of North Olmsted. <br />3) The Westshore Council of Governments will begin interviews next week for a firm to <br />study the potential for a Westshore Regional Fire District. Meetings will be held at the <br />Westlake Recreation Center. This is expected to be yet another example of how <br />regionalism will improve services to our citizens while reducing costs. <br /> <br />
