CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 80 - 153 <br />BY: MR. RONALD WILAMOSKY <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AND FIXING THE <br />COMPENSATION FOR THE DIRECTOR OF LAW OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FOR THE TERM OF OFFICE <br />COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 1982 AND ENDING <br />DECEMBER 31, 1985 AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of North. Olmsted, at Article <br />IV, Section 6, requires the Council to fix the compensation for all <br />elected officials at least Thirty (30) days prior to the filing date <br />of nominating petitions for terms beginning on the next succeeding <br />1st day of January, and <br />WHEREAS, the date for filing nominating petitions for elected <br />officials in the City of North Olmsted is April 3, 1981, and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to establish the <br />compensation for all elected officials in compliance with. the Charter <br />requirements: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH. OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the salary to be paid to the Director of Law <br />for the term commencing January 1, 1982 and ending December 31, 1985 <br />shall be as follows: <br />Effective January 1, 1982 thru December 31, 1983 - $27,000.00 per year <br />Effective January 1, 1984 thru December 31, 1985 - $29,000.00 per year <br />SECTION 2: That in addition to the. salary specified in Section <br />1 hereo t e City of North Olmsted shall pay for full hospitalization <br />coverage on a family plan with either Blue Cross and Medical Mutual <br />or the Kaiser Health Foundation or any other hospitalization plan <br />which. may be designated by Council. <br />SECTTON 3: That the compensation as specified in Sections l <br />and 2 ereo are being established only for the purpose of complying <br />with the Charter requirements as outlined in Article IV, Section 6, and <br />in no way affect any of th_e other provisions of any ordinance relating <br />to th_e organizational chart of either administrative or legislative <br />officers. <br />SECTION 4: That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason that it <br />is immediately necessary to comply with the requirements of the Charter <br />of the City of North Olmsted regarding the establsihment of salaries <br />at least Thirty (30) days prior to the filing of nominating petitions, <br />and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds <br />of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in <br />force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />~~~~ . <br />DEWEY H.
