<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 80 - 151 <br />BY: MR. RONALD WILAMOSKY <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AND FIXING THE <br />COMPENSATION FOR THE PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FOR THE TERM <br />OF OFFICE COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 1982 AND <br />ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1985, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of North Olmsted at Article IV, <br />Section 6, requires the Council to fix the compensation for all elected <br />officials at least Thirty (30) days prior to the filing date of <br />nominating petitions for terms beginning on the next succeeding 1st <br />day of January, and <br />WHEREAS, the date for filing nominating petitions for elected <br />officials in the City of North. Olmsted is April 3, 1981, and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to establish the <br />compensation for all elected officials in compliance with the <br />Charter requirements: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the salary to be paid to the President of <br />Council or t e term commencing January 1, 1982 and ending December <br />31, 1985, shall be as follows: <br />Effective January 1, 1982 thru December 31, 1983 - $5,300.00 per year <br />Effective January 1, 1984 thru December 31, 1985 - $5,500.00 per year <br />SECTLON 2: That the compensation as specified in Section 1 <br />hereof is eing established only for the purpose of complying with <br />the Charter requirements as outlined in Article IV, Section 6, and in <br />no way affects any of the other provisions of any ordinance relating <br />to the organizational chart of either administrative or legislative <br />officers. <br />SECTTON 3: That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason that it <br />is immediately necessary to comply with. the requirements of the <br />Charter of the City of North Olmsted regarding the establishment of <br />salaries at least Thirty (30) days prior to the filing of nominating <br />petitions, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of <br />twa-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect <br />and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: ~ <br />ATTEST: <br />i~G~~~ <br />DEWE LIMPERT, RESIDENT <br />OF COUNCIL <br />.1:. <br />First reading: <br />Second reading: ~ <br />Third reading: <br />F 0 ENCE CAMPBELL, CL K OF COUNCIL <br />
