I see this as a precedent to be <br />avoided in the interest of fairness. <br />There are several far-reaching implications in Council's decision to <br />approve an additional $400 for Paramedics. They relate to settlements <br />with other Departments through negotiation, wages granted to other <br />City employees, and perhaps even the trends which may be set for <br />future negotiated wage agreements. Additionally, programs and employee <br />benefits are funded with tax dollars appropriated months ago.
