By: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO PURCHASE A <br />GAPVAX SEWER JET TRUCK FOR THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT <br />PLANT THROUGH THE STATE PURCHASE PROGRAMAND TO TRADE <br />IN TRUCK NO. SS IN CONJUNCTION WITH SAID PURCHASING; AND <br />FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE ALL <br />DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE SUCH PURCHASE, AS <br />AMENDED. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service has previously recommended to this Council <br />that the City purchase a GAPVAX Sewer jet truck to meet current Wastewater Treatment Plant <br />needs, and further recommends that such needs would be met by purchasing, through the State <br />Purchase Program, one new GAPVAX Sewer Jet Truck; and <br />WHEREAS, the purchase of said truck, although in excess of Twenty-Five Thousand <br />Dollars ($25,000), is not legally required by the City Charter to be competitively bid locally, <br />because said item is being purchased through the State Purchase Program, which is deemed <br />under the City Charter to meet the Charter requirements for competitive bidding; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to purchase said truck <br />for the Wastewater Treatment Plant, through the State Purchase Program, and to further authorize <br />the trade-in of an old truck, and further, following approval of the Board of Control, if necessary, <br />to authorize the Mayor to execute all documents necessary to effectuate said purchase; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BF, IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to purchase, through the <br />State Purchasing Program, which was established by O.R.C. Section 125.04 and which the City <br />is authorized to participate in pursuant to Ordinance No. 87-6, one new GAPVAX Sewer Jet <br />Truck; that he is further authorized to trade in Truck No. 58, 1992 Ford Vactor, Serial No. <br />1GCDM19W1WB200465 in conjunction with said purchase, that as necessary to effectuate such <br />purchase through the State Purchasing Program, the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute any <br />contract and/or other appropriate documents required by the authorized vendor(s) or the State of <br />Ohio. Any such contract(s) executed by the Mayor shall be in a form and substance consistent <br />with the provisions of this Resolution and approved by the Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the <br />earliest period allowed by law. <br />
