'wwu•' , a <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0.2009 - 144 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A <br />CONTRACT WITH THE CUYAHOGA COUNTY BOARD OF <br />HEALTH TO RECEIVE FUNDS FOR THE HI NI MASS <br />INOCULATION CLINIC ACTIVITY, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted, under O.R.C. §3709.08 is a member of <br />the General Health District of Cuyahoga County; and <br />WHEREAS, the Cuyahoga County Board of Health (CCBH) will pay the City of <br />North Olmsted a sum not to exceed Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.OU) for the first <br />public health POD, and the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) thereafter for <br />each subsequent POD activation, not to exceed Forty Thousand Dollars ($40,000.00) for <br />the period of August 10, 2009 through August 9, 2010; and <br />WHEREAS, Public Health Emergency Response activities, such as the H1N1 <br />mass inoculation clinic activity held on November 21, 2009, are of vital concern to the <br />health, safety and welfare of the citizens of North Olmsted and participation in such area <br />wide programs is the most cost effective way to preserve said health, safety and welfare <br />during times of public emergency. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OFNORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: The Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to enter into a contract, <br />a copy of which is attached hereto and marked Exhibit "A," with the Cuyahoga County <br />General Health District to provide funding to the City for its expenses incurred in <br />conducting authorized Public Health Emergency Response activities,' including the H1N1 <br />mass inoculation clinic activity that took place on November 21, 2009 at North Olmsted <br />Middle School. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and <br />welfare, and for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect <br />immediately in order for the City to timely apply for and receive reimbursement for the <br />November 21, 2009 H1N1 mass inoculation clinic activity, and further provided it <br />receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect <br />and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
