reasonable attempts, in his sole judgment, to collect any such delinquent account or <br />accounts, and has been unsuccessful in such attempts, the Mayor or his designee, with the <br />consent of the Director of Law, may then turn such account or accounts over to a <br />professional collection agency for further collection efforts. The Mayor is hereby granted <br />authority to enter into contracts from time to time with professional collection a e~ ncies <br />selected by the Directors of Finance, Law, and Public Safet approved by the Board of <br />Control." <br />SECTION 2: That any ordinance, or part of any ordinance, which is in conflict or <br />inconsistent with this Ordinance, is, to the extent of any such conflict or inconsistency, repealed. <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the <br />further reason that it is necessary that this legislation go into effect immediately so that the <br />collection of delinquent EMS accounts may be pursued at the earliest opportunity and in the most <br />effective manner in order to bring additional revenues into the City during very difficult economic <br />times, and further provided that it receives the affirmative vote of at least two-thirds of the <br />members of this Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and <br />approval by the Mayor <br />PASSED: '' ~ aeE~,~,.~ct~ ~ ~- <?0 ~~ <br />'~~. <br />L.
