CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTIOIN N0.2009 - 76 <br />By: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO <br />ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF UP TO 5,000 TONS OF <br />STONE FOR VARIOUS SERVICE DEPARTMENT NEEDS THROUGHOUT THE <br />CITY AS DETAILED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE, FURTHER <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A REQUIREMENTS CONTRACT <br />WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER TO PURCHASE SAID STONE, AFTER <br />BOARD OF CONTROL APPROVAL, AND DECLARINGANEMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Public Service has advised this Council that it is necessary to <br />purchase up to 5,000 tons of stone for various Service Department needs throughout the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the necessary specifications for said stone, as prepared under the direction of the <br />Service Department of the City of North Olmsted, are on file in the Service Director's Office; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to <br />advertise for bids for up to 5,000 tons of stone for various Service Department needs throughout the City, <br />and to further authorize the Mayor to enter into a requirements contract with the lowest and best bidder <br />to purchase said stone, after Board of Control approval; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for <br />bids for up to 5,000 tons of stone for various Service Department needs throughout the City in <br />accordance with the specifications now on file in the Service Director's Office, and further that, upon <br />approval by the Board of Control, the Mayor is authorized to enter into a requirements contract and <br />execute the same on behalf of the City of North Olmsted with the lowest and best bidder. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately <br />necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further for the reason that it is <br />necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately in order to purchase seasonal supplies, and <br />further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: ~-~_~ ~~ ~ ~ UD ~ First Reading: ~/(e 0 9 <br />Second Reading.• ~' `r/ D <br />Third Reading: _. ~// ~ 0 9 <br />Committee: ~~ ~_,~,2.. <br />ATTE,~7:• ~, ;~ <br /> <br />l4RBARA L.
