.tea <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0.2009-67 <br />B~.': THE MAYOR AND THE ENTIRE CITY COUNCIL <br />A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE ACHIEVEMENT BY <br />ALLISON STRUCK <br />OF THE GOLD AWARD IN GIRL SCOUTING <br />WHEREAS, this Council and Administration recognize and reaffirm their dedication to organized Scouting; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration further recognize that those participating in Scouting, both the <br />youth and their leaders, are an invaluable asset to the community and the Nation, and that the ideals of Scouting, the Girl <br />Scout Promise and Law are commitments that all citizens should strive for; and <br />WHEREAS, when one of our young citizens has been committed to Scouting to such an extent that she earns ~~ie <br />Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award in Girl Scouting, it is truly a noteworthy accomplishment; and <br />WHEREAS, ALLISON STRUCK, an active member of Troop 713, has participated in numerous Scouting <br />activities including badge work, camping and service projects; and ALLISON received her Silver Award at the <br />completion of eighth grade by participating in a service project involving Ronald McDonald House; and <br />WHEREAS, ALLISON received her Gold Award in February of 2009; for her Gold Project, ALLISON created a <br />Peace Tree Mural at Pine School to honor students who treat others with kindness and respect; and <br />WHEREAS, in addition to her other Girl Scout activities, ALLISON participated in a leadership role in the World <br />Friendship Fair for her Service Unit one year and the food area for two years; she was a member of the Teen Committee <br />for All Scouts weekend for four years; and she has been an Honorary Scout Official for three years; and <br />WHEREAS, in addition to her Troop activities, ALLISON has worked for several years with the Fourth R <br />program in the North Olmsted Schools by tutoring younger children; she is a two-year member of the High School Art <br />Club and has a Portraiture displayed on the Art Wall of Fame and a Portraiture and Pencil Sketching in the Gallery; she is <br />a member of the high school Key Club; and <br />WHEREAS, ALLISON attended Cuyahoga Community College during her senior year of high school and will <br />graduate with honors; and she plans to attend Kent State University to study Visual Communication; and <br />WHEREAS, the reception of the Gold Award by ALLISON STRUCK is a noteworthy accomplishment <br />deserving of the congratulations of the entire community. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, <br />COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council and City Administration extend best wishes and heartiest congratulations to <br />ALLISON STRUCK on her achievement of the Gold Award in Girl Scouting. <br />SECTION 2: That <br />ALLISON STRUCK. <br />Passed: '" ~ ,~ ~ L~0 <br />the Clerk of Council is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to <br />Attests '~ <br />I~'arbara L.
