,.. <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0.2009 - 47 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady <br />.. <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A <br />CONTRACT WITH THE CUYAHOGA COUNTY BOARD OF <br />HEALTH AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF HEALTH TO USE THE <br />NORTH OLMSTED SERVICE DEPARTMENT GARAGE AS A <br />POINT OF DISPENSING ("POD ") DISEASE PREVENTION AND <br />CONTROL FACILITY IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Service that the <br />City enter into a contract with the Cuyahoga County Board of Health providing for the <br />Board of Health to use the North Olmsted Service Department Garage as a point of <br />dispensing ("POD") disease prevention and control facility in the event of an emergency; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council, acting upon the recommendation of <br />the Director of Public Service, to authorize the Mayor to enter into such a contract to <br />promote the health, safety and welfare of the North Olmsted community; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: The Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to enter into a contract, <br />a copy of which is attached hereto and marked Exhibit "A," with the Cuyahoga County <br />General Health District to provide for the Board of Health to use the North Olmsted <br />Service Department Garage as a point of dispensing ("POD") disease prevention and <br />control facility in the event of an emergency. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and <br />welfare, and for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect <br />immediately in order for the City to timely participate in this County Board of Health <br />program, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of alp <br />members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and <br />approval by the Mayor. <br />
