<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0.2009 - 41 <br />By: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SAFETY <br />ON BEHALF OF THE CITY, TO APPLY FOR AMERICAN RECOVERY <br />AND REINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009 GRANT AWARD OR AWARDS; <br />FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN <br />AGREEMENT OR AGREEMENTS WITH THE APPROPRIATE AGENCY <br />OR AGENCIES TD ACCEPT ANY SUCH GRANT OR GRANTS <br />AWARDED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AS AMENDED. <br />WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Justice has released the city, county and state <br />formula allocations for the Byrne Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program that was funded at $2 <br />billion under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted may be eligible for an individual allocation <br />under said Program or under other programs established by the American Recovery and <br />Reinvestment Act; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Safety on <br />behalf of the City of North Olmsted to apply for this Grant and any other grants provided <br />for in programs established by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, and to further <br />authorize the Mayor to enter into an Agreement or Agreements, and/or execute such other <br />required documents, with the appropriate agency or agencies to accept said grant funding from <br />the Byrne Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program and/or any other program established <br />under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, which does not require matching <br />dollars from the City of North Olmsted; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council does hereby authorize the Director of Public Safety, <br />on behalf of the City of North Olmsted, to apply for a Grant award or awards under the <br />Byrne Justice Assistance Grant Program and/or any other Grant program or programs <br />established by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, which do not require <br />matching dollars from the City of North Olmsted; and further, if the application is or <br />applications are granted, authorize the Mayor to enter into an agreement or agreements, an.Jor <br />execute such other required documents with the appropriate agency or agencies, to accept all <br />such Grant funding on behalf of the City. <br />
