<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2009 - 39 <br />By: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF LA W TO APPL Y TO <br />CLEVELAND STATE UNIVERSITY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE FEDERAL <br />WORK-STUDY PROGRAM FOR THE 2009-2010 SCHOOL YEAR, <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH <br />CLEVELAND STATE UNIVERSITY REGARDING THE SAME, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Law has requested authorization to apply to Cleveland State <br />University so that the City Law Department may, for the 2009-2010 school year, again <br />participate in the federal work study program that provides grants to public employers who hire <br />students through the program; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council has previously authorized the Law Department's participation <br />in this Grant Program for the school years 2003-2004 through 2008-2009; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has saved thousands of dollars in compensation to City law clerks <br />over the years by its participation in this grant program; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Law to apply to <br />Cleveland State University to participate in the Federal Work-Study Program for the 2009-2010 <br />school year, and the Mayor to execute an Agreement with Cleveland State University provi~l~ng <br />for the terms and conditions of the Law Department's participation in the said program for the <br />2009-2010 school year; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED B Y THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Law be and he hereby is authorized to apply to <br />Cleveland State University to participate in the Federal Work Study Program for the school year <br />2009-2010, and further that the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to execute an Agreement <br />with Cleveland State University providing for the terms and conditions of the City's participation <br />in said program. The Agreement shall be substantially in the form of the "Federal Community <br />Service Learning Program Agreement" attached to this Resolution as Exhibit A. <br />
