z~, <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0.2009 - 29 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A <br />CONTRACT WITH THE CUYAHOGA COUNTY BOARD OF <br />HEALTH FOR MOSQUITO CONTROL AND LARVAL AERIAL <br />APPLICATIONS IN BRADLEY WOODS, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted, under O.R.C. §3709.08 is a member of <br />the General Health District of Cuyahoga County; and <br />WHEREAS, the Cuyahoga County Board of Health (CCBH) plans to conduct a <br />Mosquito Control Program via Larval Arial applications in Bradley Woods Reservation <br />this year and has proposed that North Olmsted be invited to join with four (4) other <br />governmental agencies to contract for and to share the costs of said aerial applications; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted's share of said cost will be Eleven <br />Thousand, One Hundred Dollars ($11,100.00); and <br />WHEREAS, the Mosquito Control Program via aerial applications in the area of <br />Bradley Woods Reservation is of vital concern to the health, safety and welfare of the <br />citizens of North Olmsted and participation in this areawide program is the most cost <br />effective way to preserve said health, safety and welfare. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: The Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to enter into a contract, <br />a copy of which is attached hereto and marked Exhibit "A," with the Cuyahoga County <br />General Health District to provide authorization for Mosquito Control for Larval Aerial <br />applications in Bradley Woods in 2009. <br />SECTION 2: That a copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the Director <br />of Finance for authority to pay to the order of the Cuyahoga County Board of Health <br />(CCBH) in accordance with and upon documentation under the provisions hereof. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and <br />welfare, and for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect <br />immediately in order for the City to timely participate in the areawide Mosquito Control <br />Program, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all <br />members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and <br />approval by the Mayor. <br />e.~~~. ~.. .v.~y <br />
