~h . ..~ <br />~.M <br />Ordinance No. 2009-11 <br />shall also, when necessary as determined by the Director of Law, assist the City Prosecutor. The <br />primary duties of the Assistant Director of Law -Part Time shall be to provide legal assistance <br />to the City's Fair Housing Administrator and Fair Housing Review Board, and to the City's Real <br />Property Maintenance Code Enforcement Program. At least one-half of the time spent by the <br />Assistant Director of Law -Part Time shall be spent on matters relating to the City's Fair <br />Housing Program. <br />(c) The third assistant director of law shall be known as the City Prosecutor. Like the <br />Assistant Director of Law -Part Time, this shall be a part-time position also. The City <br />Prosecutor shall act on behalf of the City or the State of Ohio in the prosecution of felony and <br />misdemeanor offenses occurring in the City of North Olmsted, and shall perform such other <br />duties as are required by law of municipal prosecutors. <br />(d) The Legal Secretary shall be a full-time position and shall provide secretarial services <br />to all of the attorneys in the Law Department. <br />(e) One of the Department's three law clerks shall be designated as the Prosecutor's <br />Law Clerk, and the other two law clerks shall be designated as Civil Law Clerks, serving the <br />Director of Law and the Assistant Directors of Law. The City Law Clerks shall be paid on an <br />hourly basis. <br />BE AMENDED, AND, AS AMENDED, SHALL READ AS FOLLOWS: <br />137.01 COMPOSITION <br />(a) The Law Department of the City, as provided for in Article V, Section 2 of the City <br />Charter, shall be headed by the Director of Law. The employees of the Department shall consist <br />of three assistant directors of law, a legal secretary and three law clerks, all of whom shall be <br />appointed by and under the supervision of the Director of Law. Each of the assistant directors of <br />law shall be an attorney in good standing with the Ohio Supreme Court and licensed to practice <br />law in the State of Ohio. The law clerks shall be law students at an accredited law school, or <br />graduates from an accredited law school. <br />(b) Two of the assistant directors of law shall be known as, respectively, the Assistant <br />Director of Law -Full Time, and the Assistant Director of Law -Part Time. These Assistant <br />Directors of Law shall primarily assist the Director of Law in the performance of his duties, and <br />shall also, when necessary as determined by the Director of Law, assist the City Prosecutor.
