<br /> <br /> <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2009 - 9 <br />By: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF <br />PLANNING TO FILE AN APPLICATION FOR A COMMUNITY <br />RECYCLING A WARENESS GRANT FROM THE CUYAHOGA <br />COUNTY SOLID WASTE DISTRICT; FURTHER <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT THE GRANT, IF <br />AWARDED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District annually offers Community <br />Recycling Awareness Grants to communities in the maximum amount of Three Thousand Five <br />Hundred Dollars ($3,500.00); and <br />WHEREAS, there are no matching funds required for this grant; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Planning to file an <br />application for a Community Recycling Awareness Grant with the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste <br />District; and to further authorize the Mayor to accept the grant, if awarded, and to execute a <br />contract if required and such other documents necessary to effectuate receipt of the grant; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Planning be and is hereby authorized to file an <br />application with the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District for a Community Recycling <br />Awareness Grant in the maximum amount of Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($3,500.00). <br />SECTION 2: That further the Mayor be and is hereby authorized to accept the grant, if <br />awarded, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted and to execute a contract, if required, and all <br />such other documents necessary to effectuate receipt of the grant. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the <br />further reason that it is necessary that this legislation go into effect immediately because the grant <br />application deadline is February 13, 2009; and further provided that it receives the affirmative <br />vote oftwo-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon <br />its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
