CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2009 - 9 By: Mayor O'Grady A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PLANNING TO FILE AN APPLICATION FOR A COMMUNITY RECYCLING A WARENESS GRANT FROM THE CUYAHOGA COUNTY SOLID WASTE DISTRICT; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT THE GRANT, IF AWARDED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District annually offers Community Recycling Awareness Grants to communities in the maximum amount of Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($3,500.00); and WHEREAS, there are no matching funds required for this grant; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Planning to file an application for a Community Recycling Awareness Grant with the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District; and to further authorize the Mayor to accept the grant, if awarded, and to execute a contract if required and such other documents necessary to effectuate receipt of the grant; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Director of Planning be and is hereby authorized to file an application with the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District for a Community Recycling Awareness Grant in the maximum amount of Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($3,500.00). SECTION 2: That further the Mayor be and is hereby authorized to accept the grant, if awarded, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted and to execute a contract, if required, and all such other documents necessary to effectuate receipt of the grant. SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that it is necessary that this legislation go into effect immediately because the grant application deadline is February 13, 2009; and further provided that it receives the affirmative vote oftwo-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
