Robert P.G. Bowker has over 25 years
experience in the planning, design, and
? operation of wastewater facilities, with a
strong background in research and
? development. Mr. Bowker's areas of
expertise include odor and corrosion control
in wastewater collection and treatment
? systems, process design and detailed design
of wastewater treatment plants, and
alternative wastewater systems for small
? communities. Mr. Bowker is considered a
national expert in odor and corrosion control
? in waste handling systems.
As a consulting engineer, Mr. Bowker has
assumed management and technical
responsibility for many key projects.
Highlights include the following:
• Preparing, as principal author, the 1985
EPA Design Manual on Odor and
Corrosion Control in Sanitary Sewers and
Treatment Plants.
?
• Designing and providing design assistance
for odor control systems in Keene, NH,
Cromwell, CT, Portland, ME, Concord,
NH, Fitchburg, MA, Lexington, KY,
Singapore, and elsewhere.
o Preparing, as principal author, EPA
handbooks on 1) Control of Hydrogen
Sulfide Corrosion in Wastewater Systems,
2) Control of Odors from Small Sludge
Composting Systems, and 3) Septage
Treatment and Disposal.
• Contributing author of 1995 WEF MOP
22 "Odor Control in Wastewater
Treatment Plants."
During his tenure with EPA's Municipal
Environmental Research Laboratory, Mr.
Bowker's experience included the following:
• Developing the highly-acclaimed EPA
Process Design Manual on Onsite
Treatment and Disposal Systems.
• Conducting odor emission surveys and
? evaluating odor control alternatives for • Conducting detailed technical reviews of
wastewater treatment facilities from 0.5 to over 100 facility plans proposing the use
300 mgd in over 50 cities throughout the of Innovative and Alternative (I/A)
