Reacis log book of previous shift operafions to determine the occurrence of conditions requiring special <br />attention during his shifts. <br />Tours and inspects assigned pump stafiion and treatment plant as required; checks out equipment and <br />collects appropriate wastewater samples during various phases of the treatment process; checks flow <br />charts to determine that ffow is to desired _volume; checks ink supply and flow pens and repienishing <br />and ac{justs as necessary. <br />Turns e(ectricafly oparated pumps on and off in accordance with a prescribed schedule or specific <br />insfiructions; reacis meters; changes log and recorder sheets and makes periodic entries fhereon. <br />Perforrns such general cUstodial work as mopping floors, washing windows, painting equiprnent, <br />keeping machinery free of dust and oi(, and shoveiing snow. <br />? Maintains vigilance over operating equipment and recording devices at pumping stations; starts up <br />emergency pumps and manua{My resets controi deuices fio maintain pumping and trc-atment operations <br />during power failure and emergency conditions. . <br />inspects and checks out grit equipment for proper operation; starts grit coflscfors; removes grit and <br />debris from grit hoppers, <br />Participates in the work of crews engaged in the operation and maintenance of the wastewater plant <br />and related facifities; for example, repairs roofs; interior and exterior of plant buildings; paints buildings, <br />trim, walls and cei[ings; replaces windows, doors and locks; repairs and maintains plant buifding and <br />grounds. <br />As required, keeps records af ali work perfarmed; reparts nsed for materials and equipment on <br />construction and repairjobs. <br />71
